Adult Students

NVOL registration is closed during the summer

The NVOL registration office is closed during the summer and will re-open on the first day of the 2026-2027 school year.

Starting on September 8th:

  • Returning NVOL students can request a new course through the Course Additions Request Form
  • New NVOL students can register through the registration portal

Adult Student Information
  • Adult students (19 years of age or older before July 1 of the current school year) who have either met the general requirements for graduation or have completed the requirements for graduation from a secondary school or high school in another jurisdiction.

    The following high school courses are available tuition-free to graduated adults through NVOL:

    • Composition 11
    • Creative Writing 11
    • Literary Studies 11
    • Life Sciences 11
    • Anatomy and Physiology 12
    • Chemistry 11
    • Chemistry 12
    • Physics 11
    • Physics 12
    • Workplace Mathematics 11
    • Foundations of Mathematics 11
    • Pre-Calculus 11
    • Apprenticeship Mathematics 12
    • Foundations of Mathematics 12
    • Pre-Calculus 12
    • Calculus 12​​​​

    If you are a Graduated Adult student wanting to take a course that is not listed above, a non-refundable fee of $550 per course will be payable at the time of registration. Please see our Fees page for more information.

    To register as a Graduated Adult student please follow the steps below:

    ​​Step 1: Register online 
    Submit the course request through the 
    online registration portal.

    Step 2: Submit the NVOL Supplementary Intake Form 
    Complete the NVOL Supplementary Intake Form.

    Step 3: Gather and submit required documents 
    After submitting the Intake Form, make sure you upload your documents to the OneDrive link you will receive via email. The Required Documents​ checklist has been added to your folder for you to check before uploading.​

    • Proof of Status in Canada for the student
    • Proof of Address in B.C.

    Step 4: Complete the Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement 
    All students are required to complete and submit the Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement.​​

  • School-aged students (18 years of age or younger before July 1 of the current school year) who have either met the general requirements for graduation or have completed the requirements for graduation from a secondary school or high school in another jurisdiction.

    School-aged graduates are eligible to enroll in NVOL courses tuition free.

    To register as a School-aged Graduate please follow the steps below:

    ​​Step 1: Register online
    Submit the course request through the 
    online registration portal.

    Step 2: Submit the NVOL Supplementary Intake Form
    Complete the 
    NVOL Supplementary Intake Form.

    Step 3: Gather and submit required documents
    After submitting the Intake Form, make sure you upload your documents to the OneDrive link you will receive via email. The 
    Required Documents​ checklist has been added to your folder for you to check before uploading.

    • Proof of Status in Canada for the student
    • Proof of Status in Canada for the parent (if under the age of 19 at time of registration)
    • Proof of Address in B.C.

    Step 4: Complete the Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement 

  • The Adult Graduation Program is available to adult learners (18 years of age and older) who want to take high school courses to earn their high school diploma. Students are required to complete 20 credits (5 courses) to graduate. To be eligible, students must be BC residents.

    Adults who did not graduate high school due to being short a few courses may choose to complete the “regular” 2023 Graduation Program​. Students are required to complete 80 credits to graduate.

    Adult students will meet with our Academic Advisor for guidance as part of the registration process.

    Adults who have not graduated high school are eligible for funding for courses that lead to their graduation. For courses not covered by the Ministry of Education and Child Care, a non-refundable fee of $550 per course will be charged, payable at the time of registration.

    To register as a School-aged Graduate please follow the steps below:

    Step 1: Submit the NVOL Supplementary Intake Form 
    Complete the NVOL Supplementary Intake Form to have the Academic Advisor connect with you for an intake meeting. 

    Step 2: Gather and submit required documents 
    After submitting the Intake Form, make sure you upload your documents to the OneDrive link you will receive via email. The Required Documents​ checklist has been added to your folder for you to check before uploading.​

    • Proof of Status in Canada for the student
    • Proof of Address in B.C.

    ​​Step 3: Register online 
    Submit the course request through the 
    online registration portal.

    Step 4: Complete the Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement 
    All students are required to complete and submit the Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement.​​

  • ​At this time, North Vancouver Online Learning does not offer English Language Learning courses.
